COVID-19 UPDATE

To Our Good Seed Church Family:

We have been closely following the local and national updates for COVID-19, and have been blessed to continue services until now. The latest local and national updates advise that gatherings with 10 or more people increases the risk of exposure and transmission of the virus. Expert health professionals are canceling all essential meetings and asking everyone to practice social distancing. To protect our congregation, we are postponing all in-person events and gatherings at World Theater until we are cleared to congregate.

For many, the spread of this virus has caused fear and anxiety. Yet we are grateful that the Bible tells us, “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7). We pray that you would sense God’s peace in the midst of these difficult circumstances. This does not mean we should be careless or reactionary, but rather walk in wisdom as we serve the Lord and our community in a way that demonstrates our trust in God and our love for people.

By closing our doors at this time:

  • We are loving our neighbors by protecting our neighbors.

  • We are not being fearful. We are being responsible.

  • This is what love requires of us in this season.

  • This is a great opportunity to remind everyone that the church is not a building, but a body of believers following Jesus…not a place, but a people.

We love you and are praying for you and your families’ continued safety and well-being. We are praying for all those who have been affected by this virus and for a cure from heaven. Let us also keep our medical community lifted up in prayer as they deal with the impact of this crisis. We will continue to keep you updated and look forward to our new grand opening date.

In His Service,

Pastor Glenn D. Bone III

What is COVID-19?

This is the official scientific name for the new Coronavirus strand that was discovered in 2019 and has not been previously identified in humans. It can be transmitted between animals and people

What are the symptoms?

Reported illnesses have ranged from mild symptoms to severe illness and death for confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases. According to the World Health Organization, the following symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure.

  • Runny nose
  • Sore throat
  • Cough
  • Fever
  • Pneumonia
  • Difficulty breathing (severe cases)
If you show any of the signs, please seek medical attention and reduce the amount of places you go and people you interact with until you fully recover. We deeply encourage you to seek medical attention as soon as you display these symptoms.

Who is at risk?

If you are a senior (60+ years old) or have a compromised immune system, you are at risk for contracting the virus and should take extra preventative measures. Seniors with weakened or compromised immune systems are the highest at risk.

  • Compromised Immune Systems
  • Autoimmune Disease (Lupus, Diabetes, Crohns, Rheumatoid Arthritis)
  • Primary or Acquired Immune Deficiency
  • Heart or Respiratory Disease
  • Viral Infections
  • Overactive Immune System (eczema, asthma, etc.)

What are the next steps?

Standard recommendations to prevent infection spread include:

  • Regular hand washing
  • Covering mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing
  • Avoid touching your nose, mouth, and face
  • Thoroughly cooking meat and eggs and wash all produce
  • Increase your intake of fruits and vegetables
  • Social distancing
  • Avoid close contact with anyone showing symptoms of respiratory illness such as coughing and sneezing

Does this mean all church events are cancelled?

Our Lifeworks events have been postponed and the church grand opening, formerly April 12, 2020 will be moved to a later date, however, services will still occur online. Thursday Bible Study, “The Gathering” and Sunday Services will be held live on our Facebook page here.
